The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia passed its final judgment Nov. 29, more than two decades after the 1995 Dayton Accords ended the Bosnian war. Operating out of The Hague, the institution was set up to prosecute those whose conduct during the conflict was in serious violation of international humanitarian law. Following the indictment of 161 individuals, primarily from 1997 to 2004, the tribunal will formally close its doors at the end of the year.
